Project Management 101 · 12 Modules + 2 Onsites

The Grace Project Management Academy

A start-to-finish path through the project lifecycle — built to change how Grace project managers run work, not just what they know about it.

Why this program exists

Grace shapes environments that ignite human potential. Project managers are how that promise gets kept.

Vision

Design that Defines.
Impact that Endures.

Our designs transcend buildings — they become catalysts for positive change.

Mission

Shaping environments that ignite human potential.

We craft spaces that spark inspiration and empower people to surpass their limits.

Values

Do Good. Be Great.

Character and excellence define who we are — a meritocracy where integrity meets innovation.

A vision only endures if every project delivers it — and projects are delivered one decision at a time. That is the project manager’s work: the Accountable Owner who turns intent into outcome — scope held, delivery controlled, integrity protected, the firm kept healthy, and the team made stronger. This program builds that capability.

How the program builds

One operating system for the Accountable Owner — built module by module.

Three Core Behaviors compound into five Target Outcomes — carried, every module, by one identity: the Accountable Owner.

Start here

The program runs in three movements: an opening onsite that sets firm-wide intent, twelve self-paced virtual modules that build the core skills in sequence, and a closing capstone onsite that applies it all to real Grace cases. Work the modules in order — each one assumes the last.

Module 1 · Async + Virtual

The PM Role

Projects don’t lose money because they’re complex — they lose money because work keeps advancing while a critical decision stays open.

Module 2 · Async + Virtual

Project Finance 1

A project can be on budget and still be losing money — what matters is the gap between what you spend and what you earn.

Module 3 · Async + Virtual

Project Finance 2

Revenue isn’t booked when the work is sold — it’s earned as backlog converts to cash, and the PM controls how fast that happens.

Module 4 · Async + Virtual

Contracting & Handoff

The moment a pursuit becomes a project is the moment risk is locked in — a clean handoff is the PM’s first defense of the fee.

Module 5 · Async + Virtual

Project Planning 1

You cannot manage what you have not broken down — the Work Breakdown Structure turns a promise into a plan you can control.

Module 6 · Async + Virtual

Project Planning 2

A plan that doesn’t assign hours, people, and a way to measure progress is a wish — the work plan is where the fee meets reality.

Module 7 · Async + Virtual

Project Kickoff

A kickoff isn’t a meeting — it’s the point at which the whole team agrees on what “done” looks like before anyone starts working.

Module 8 · Async + Virtual

Managing Execution 1

Execution is a rhythm, not a reaction — the PM sets the cadence of communication that keeps client, design, and delivery in step.

Module 9 · Async + Virtual

Managing Execution 2

Percent complete, burn rate, and schedule only tell the truth when you read them together — one number alone will lie to you.

Module 10 · Async + Virtual

Managing Change & Quality

Unmanaged change is just fee you gave away for free — formalizing change and protecting quality are the same discipline.

Module 11 · Async + Virtual

Construction Administration

The field pays for every decision you deferred during design — strong CA is upstream planning collecting its dividend.

Module 12 · Async + Virtual

Debriefing & Continuous Improvement

A project isn’t finished when it ships — it’s finished when the firm is smarter for having done it.
